Renmore Gymnastics Club (RGC) and Monivea Rugby Club announce the first running of Ireland’s Resolution Run. This is a 5K road-race that takes place in Renmore on New Year’s Day 2011. Representatives from the local Athletic Clubs in Galway along with Connacht Rugby players Keith Matthews Captain John Muldoon attended the recent launch held in Renmore Gymnastics Club.

The 5K Run is expected to attract a large number of runners. The organizers of the race also hope to attract people who always intended to start exercising but who just never got around to it….yet.

“It's never too late to be who you might have been” is a quote attributed to the famous English novelist George Eliot.

Well, when it comes to running Ireland’s first Resolution Run, it’s never too late to be the Runner you might have been.

A Children's' Run (1K) will also take place on the same day.  Starting time for this race is 12:00 noon.

Full details are on the www.resolutionrun.ie website, and all proceeds go to Renmore Gymnastics club and Monivea Rugby Club. Both clubs train hundreds of schoolchildren and teenagers each year, and both clubs appreciate the full support of the people of Galway city and county.
